This book is a collection of sketches of Jacqueline du Pre written by her friends and colleagues - the Earl of Harewood on being her godfather, William Pleeth on teaching her, Yehudi Menuhin on her student days, Placido Domingo on learning the cello from her, Christopher Nupen on filming her and Janet Suzman on coaching her for a dramatic debut. The book, now in a new edition, has an updated discography and information about the Jacqueline du Pre Memorial Fund to which all royalties from sales of this book are being donated. There is an introduction by HRH The Prince of Wales and among the other eminent contributors are Dame Janet Baker, Lady Barbirolli, Antony Hopkins, Ian Hunter, Sir Robert Mayer, Zubin Mehta, Gerald Moore, and Eugenia and Pinchas Zukerman.
